A New Book! A Song for the Colors and the Flowers of Hawai'i

I am truly so honored and grateful that I was given the opportunity to illustrate the children book written by Kumu Lehua Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, who had received his lifetime achievement award from Nahoku Honahona Awards last weekend, and the book was released October 25.
A Song for the Colors and the Flowers of Hawai'i is a song about Hawaiian nature.
Done in the mixed media, digital collage.

Wherever you are, take some time and be still today, and hear the nature song.

Paper Doll Review

I am so grateful to see my paper dolls were featured in the latest issue of Paper Doll Review #74, the theme: Polynesia. I illustrated these paper dolls years ago for appreciation for its beautiful culture of Hawai'i. I designed the hula doll figurine too, a while ago. I love old dolls and toy☺️

I am so happy tp announce that my on-line store at Spoonflower is open finally this week!🌱✨My store name is "alohajoy", Hawai'i inspired happy design. For past two years, I began dreaming about having my own designs on fabric.  I hope I can share my aloha and joy of living on my Island, and the beauty of God's creation...and hope my designs will bring sunshine, rainbow and tropical breeze to your home from Hawai'i. Please let me know if you would like a design at a different scale, and I would be glad to upload that. And please request any design you would like to see in the future. Psalms Coloring Book from Japanese publisher Olives

My new coloring book "Coloring book for adults with scripture verses from Psalm" in English and Japanese was released this month. This is my first book I worked with publisher in Japan, so I feel very honored and blessed.

Even though I call Hawai'i my home now, being born and raised in Japan and visit my family regularly there, part of my heart is always with Japan. I dedicated this book to my mom, who is paralyzed in right side arm four years ago by stroke, and started coloring for her left hand rehab.

During working on this project, God had taught me so much about His love and care, not only for my mom but for me and entire family.  This book became so dear to my heart.
Japan has only less than 1% of Christian population, and I went to Japan mission trip six time now...my sincere prayer is that this little coloring book will be used as a ministry tool to bring God's words to their lives.

They are plants and animals from Bible to color, with scriptures from Book of Psalms. It is available only in Japan so far (amazon.jp), but hopefully soon in Amazon.
